Welcome to the Chase: The Stories Behind the Sound

Welcome, Chasers!

If you've ever wondered about the stories behind your favorite Motown records, the voices you remember, or the artists whose contributions deserve another listen, you're in the right place.

Chasing Motown began with a simple passion: celebrating the music while digging deeper into the people, places, and moments that made it extraordinary.

But our chase doesn't stop with the familiar hits.

From the songs that defined a generation to the deep cuts you never knew existed, we're exploring the recordings, artists, and stories that deserve to be heard.

Here, you'll discover forgotten releases, overlooked performers, unreleased recordings, rare photographs, firsthand memories, and the fascinating corners of Motown history that don't always make the history books.

We'll revisit the legends, but we'll also shine a light on artists whose names may be unfamiliar, even when their music is extraordinary.

You'll hear directly from people who helped create the Sound of Young America through original interviews, personal recollections, and discoveries from the archives.

Some stories will bring back memories. Others may surprise you. And occasionally, we might even challenge something you thought you knew.

Whether you've been following the Chase for years or you're discovering us for the first time, there's always another record to discover, another voice to appreciate, and another story worth telling.

For the Chasers — the stories behind the sound, and the sounds waiting to be discovered.

Welcome to Chasing Motown.
